Q1 2022 data shows a sharp decline in the value of early stage investments held by venture capital firms, private equity, and private debt. As we’ve spoke about before, there’s a lot of lag in how this data is reported and I think these numbers will continue to get worse as we see Q2 and Q3 data later this year. Startups lacking large cash reserves and/or stellar growth would be smart to at least pick up the phone and entertain talks with strategic acquirers.
