U.S. Rare Earth Plant Bombarded by Fake Chinese Social Media Platform Posts

It’s recently surfaced that environmental backlash to new rare earths processing plants being establish in the U.S. and Canada was orchestrated by a pro-Chinese government group impersonating environmental campaigners on social media platforms. The fake Facebook and Twitter accounts claimed that a rare earths refinery being built in Texas would “expose the area to irreversible environmental damage”.
