D&H IT Distributing Launches New Marketplace Business Unit

In this video I look at D&H’s announcement that they will be launching an Everything-as-a-Service model. This new offering looks to manage the entire customer lifecycle by building and customizing comprehensive multi-vendor offerings with Hardware, Software, Financing, and Managed Services.

The most exciting element of this new initiative from D&H will be the offering of marketplace capabilities to distributor customers down the supply chain from D&H. I see a lot of similarities here to what Applico did with Dot Foods in the food/grocery distribution space. I think there are ample opportunities in the IT distribution space where D&H operates and initiatives like this could be drastically accelerated via investment, partnership, or acquisition of tech startups in the B2B industry. I applaud D&H’s move here to innovate and digitize it’s downstream distributors and am excited to see this area of B2B distribution continue to evolve.
