L’Occitane Flagship Store Opens in Manhattan

L’Occitane en Provence, makers of natural beauty products from the South of France, recently held the grand opening of their first U.S. flagship store (though it is their 13th storefront in NYC). As it happens, their stunning new location is just a few blocks from the Applico office in the Flatiron district of Manhattan. Applico was honored to play a role in the event, developing the Provence Photo Booth iPad app specifically for the grand opening party. The app utilizes green screen technology to replace the background of photos with a beautiful French countryside backdrop. L’Occitane set-up an iPad kiosk and green screen for the party and attendees were eager to see themselves in France. After snapping their photos and choosing their new background, attendees tweeted (or e-mailed) the results for their the whole world to see. Judging by the @PixEnProvence Twitter feed, I’d say the promotion was a success! See for yourself…
