Discord Acquisition:
The Wall Street Journal has reported that acquisition talks between Discord and Microsoft have ended. Discord, a communication platform popular in various gaming communities, has declined Microsoft’s reported $10 billion+ offer and will instead look towards an IPO or direct listing. Alex discusses if regulatory concerns may have played a part in curbing this deal and breaks down how Discord could’ve been an excellent addition to Microsoft’s gaming portfolio after the shuttering of Mixer, a video game live streaming competitor to Amazon’s Twitch.
