Why Pinterest Needed a New CEO πŸ“Œ | Ben Silbermann Steps Down

Pinterest has announced that CEO and Co-Founder Ben Silbermann will be stepping down from his position. Silbermann has long struggled to monetize the social media platform and will be replaced by former head of Google’s commerce business, Bill Ready.

We’ve long discussed how Silbermann has seemed to avoid criticism despite Pinterest’s internal controversies and lack of execution around eCommerce. I think this move is long overdue and hopefully one that will begin to turn this $12 billion platform business in the right direction.
