Square Acquires Tidal:
Square Inc, an American fintech company offering merchant services and a mobile payments platform, has announced they will be acquiring Multi-Platinum rapper Jay-Z’s failed music streaming service Tidal. Alex discusses this bizarre acquisition in which Jay-Z will be added to Square’s board of directors. He looks at the gargantuan market cap discrepancy between Tidal and leading music streaming service Spotify and is perplexed as to any way Tidal could be competitive in this matured market.
