Applico’s Head of Platform, Nick Johnson Invited to Speak at World Economic Forum

Applico is a platform innovation company and enterprise advisory firm that specializes in helping big companies build platform businesses. These companies hold a tremendous amount of economic power and Applico takes its position as their preferred platform advisor very seriously. Together, Applico and these companies can co-create more economic value and dominate with the platform business model in the 21st century.

As part of our commitment, our CEO Alex Moazed and Head of Platform Nick Johnson co-authored a book on platforms called Modern Monopolies. Below is a sampling of some of the praise the book received on its ability to detail how platforms operate and how the platform model helps big companies disrupt the disruptors:

Recently, Applico’s Nick Johnson was invited as a speaker at the World Economic Forum. More specifically, Nick will be speaking at the Forum’s Digital Transformation Initiative on October 26 in the World Economic Forum’s NYC offices.

The World Economic Forum describes the initiative:

“The promise of digital platforms and their ability to create value is unprecedented. Yet to reach this potential – particularly in a business-to-business context – an array of questions need to be addressed. New business models, innovation strategies and enabling policy frameworks all need to be holistically understood to ensure a trustworthy and innovative platform economy can emerge.

“This workshop will gather a community of experts from industry, policy and civil society to identify the key drivers, explore frameworks for balancing competing interests, and collectively prioritize next steps. Outcomes of this workshop will shape an array of activities to be held at the Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos and beyond.”

Applico will share his presentation and talk with our audience after the event’s conclusion.
