January Android Developer Meet-up
Applico is excited to announce that we will be hosting a monthly meet-up for app developers in the NYC community. Our first meet-up of the new year will be focused on the Android platform and we hope to see a strong showing from the android developer community. The event will be held on Tuesday, January 24th at 7:30PM at our offices in Grammercy (220 E. 23rd St. – Penthouse).
Applico was recently named the #1 Android App Developer for the third consecutive year. Yep, that’s pretty much the entire lifespan of the Android OS. Read the full press release here.
The meet-up is modeled around our internal Lunch n’ Learn series where our developers discuss platform specific quirks, idiosyncrasies, tips and tricks over lunch. Attendees to this meet-up are encouraged to bring their own discussion points.
The discussion will be lead by our CTO and lead android developer, Matt Powers. While the conversation will be primarily driven by community contribution, we will also be specifically discussing the evolution of tablet and ICS apps and how they are architected differently than those designed for previous iterations of the Android OS.
Schedule:
7:30PM – 8:00: Pizza & Refreshments
8:00PM – 9:30: Discussion
9:30PM – 10:00: Networking
Applcio is always looking for talented developers. If you’re interested in a job, this is a great opportunity to experience our company culture and speak directly to our decision makers.

Oh, and we haven’t forgotten about all of the iOS developers out there. We’ll be hosting a similar event in February for the iPhone folks.
