Applico Founder & CEO, Alex Moazed, Returns to Fox Business News
Fox Business News invited Alex back for another interview this morning. The subject? Facebook’s IPO, the Instagram acquisition and their trouble monetizing mobile.
Alex was even kind enough to dole out a bit of free knowledge for the social giant. When prompted about what Facebook could do to fix their mobile offerings, Alex suggested that their mobile applications should be focused around core functionality instead of being a replication of the desktop site.
“You can see now where they [Facebook] launched a messenger application just for chat. They have Karma for gifting. Glancee for location-based. They have these different initiatives that let people focus on a particular utility per application. When you go to mobile, you need to simplify that down to the core value of whatever it is that your company provides.”
Facebook Camera, which was literally hit the App Store within an hour or two after the segment aired, echoes Alex’s comments on Facebook’s need to compartmentalize their mobile offerings.
